Tell me your name, Macedonian?

I know some people. Honest and working people. They don’t call themselves Bulgarians nor Serbs. They don’t call themselves Former Yugoslav Macedonians either. They call themselves Macedonians.

I know a country. A beautiful country. They call it Macedonia. I call it Macedonia. You call it Macedonia. We all call it, or we all should call it Macedonia. Do we know any other name for this country? Do we?

Who has the right to deny someone the right to use his name? The name he has used for years, decades, maybe centuries? Who has the right to deny someone the right to choose which name he should be called by?
My name is Milan? Do I have the right to deny someone to use that name? Does someone else have the right to deny my right to use that name? No. Nor it ever should have.

Greeks, I may have some (little) understanding for your position in this dispute. But I have no understanding for you, taking the right to deny a nation of its name. I have no understanding for you, treating that name as it were a brand name. Fuck that. You can not ask someone to stop calling himself by a name he has used for centuries, by the only name he identifies himself with. You are making a nation suffer. For that you will suffer. What goes around, comes around.
